True or False... ? Advertising Mayhem

Yesterday on the 2nd of May, Rimu Class were challenged to write either a true or false story about an event that happened during the last school holidays.
Your job is to try to guess the right answer, whether that would be true of false.
Have a read of my story, and in the comment box tell me which you think it is and WHY!
Enjoy!

Over the last fourteen days my family and I drove to Northlands Mall around seven times.
Four of the visits were to find specific things, another was to watch a movie, and the other three were simply because we could.

On the 5th day of the fourteen days, on a simply because we could visit, we couldn’t believe how many people were there!
I suppose it was the school holidays, but that didn’t mean everyone had to come!

As we walked among the many people we soon past Briscoes, and it looked like almost everyone was in there!
They were having another sale with 60% off specialized tea towels and toilet plungers!
I couldn’t believe it… I mean why on earth would Briscoes advertise those two things out of everything else?
Even though most of the other kitchen and bathroom accessories were on sale too!

It seemed a bit odd, but not as odd as what we saw next!
We slowly made our way to the end of the mall where we saw The Warehouse advertising there imported duct tape and fishbowls!
This seemed a little bit hard to believe!

Our just because we could visit, had turned into a advertising mayhem visit!
I suppose it’s not something you see everyday; but man it was funny!

  1. Well done Nikita! you have presented a great piece of writing. I enjoyed reading this blog post because it is witty, fast paced and describes a phenomenon that I struggle to fathom. You see when I was younger and you needed something at the shop; you visited the shop from which you needed to make a purchase. The person in the shop was knowledgeable about the merchandise and stood by their products. Now - not so much.

I do have to admit that toilet plungers come in handy at YMS on occasion. I will say no more. If I had known about the special on duct tape I could have purchased some as I am sure it would be cheaper than band aids.

I am going to vote that your recount is true. Sadly so.

I look forward to your next blog post.

  2. Ha ha, duct tape would hurt if it were plasters! (How could you think of such a thing!? ;)
Thanks for commenting and sharing your opinion.
I won't tell you what it is yet so that others can guess aswell.
