Novel Study

Hey everyone!

This term we had to do yet again another novel study!
This time I was recommended the book 'Goodnight Mister Tom' Written by Michelle Magorian.
I found the book to be very eye opening, emotional, and filled with amazingly described setting and character descriptions.
This book is set during WW2 in and near London, and tells the story of William Beech; a 9 year old boy evacuated from his home with his mentally ill mother to a small town called Little Weirwood.
William was a very deprived child but soon flourished under the care of his new guardian Mister Tom Oakley.
I strongly invite you to come and make friends with William, experience the fun and hardships he faces during that time in his life.
It will be well worth it!

Moving on to the activities I had to do in connection with this book; everything is presented on this google slide.
Please take a look and if you want recommend it to your teacher! (It is a fun creative way to learn!)

Sorry for the long post!😞

'Prototec Maths' Column Graph

Hello fellow Bloggers!
Today's post is about an awesome site called 'Prototec Basic Facts Maths'.
This site caters for stage 2-8 and is an excellent way to learn maths and also teach it!
Teachers can assist their students in working out equations to do with; decimals, percentages, fractions, times tables, addition, subtraction, and place value.
The tests are NOT TIMED so you can enjoy working at your own pace!
This site is worth trying! Click here to have a go yourself!

Moving on to the progress I have made using this site; my year 6-8 class (Rimu) has each created a column graph (see below) charting the results over last 6 weeks on Prototec.
We have finally completed this activity and were eager to show everyone the progress we have made!
I hope you all will take the time to look at this site and try it out for yourself!

See you next post!🤗😎😋

100 Word Challenge Week #9

I am back and writing 100 Word Challenges again!
The class took a bit of a break because we had events and stuff on, so this is my first one in about 5 weeks.

The prompt was to add ...as the smoke cleared... in our writing.
Please read and comment on my work!

The choking smoke stuck to my throat and soon poured into my lungs; it was stinging my eyes so that the only thing I could only see was the faint fuzzy outline of his body through the smoke and tears. The mans strong voice was slowly being drowned in piercing screams that were shattering my brain along with all the confusion.

I was spluttering everywhere; and as I dragged my leg forward to take my next step my body gave in to the pain and distress.

But that was not the end, as something was revealed as the smoke cleared.

We should all Travel!

Hi everyone, I'm sure most of you know that this Term is all about Speeches!

I struggled to come up with a topic and then struggled to write it, but with some help and google search I have managed to create an amazing speech about why we all should travel!

2 days ago on the 21st, a librarian came to our school to judge the top 3 in each year groups speeches.
I was chosen to be in the top 3 and came 2nd out of the Year 8's. (Yay!)

Have you written a speech?
Did you go to a speech compitition?
Have you won anything?

I'd like to know more about how your speeches went and also have those questions answered if you can!

See you next blog post!
