Hey everyone here is this weeks 100 WC with the prompt …as the flame flickered and then went out…
Each step that we took further into the thick undergrowth became more difficult.
Our tour guide is useless, utterly useless!
He is afraid of virtually everything, every crack, crumple and creek!
As the sun sets, one of our only sources of light, we try to make the most out of the vague instruction he gives us.
We gather some twigs, and using the last match we have, strike it against our small match box.
The silence caused such for a depressing mood, and it was lingering in the night air.
Then, fear as the flame flickered and then went out.

The Amazing Race Slide Show
The Amazing Race is an activity that my class are doing this year.
We have to to read as many books as we can to move around 30 countries that have been set out around our class map.
After reading one fiction chapter book we write a summary about it and then we can move up a country.
The first five to read 30 books and complete the race get a $20 voucher.
We also that need to write a fact about each country that we land on during the race.
I will do this on this slide show below.
What do you think?

100 Word Challenge Week #18
This week for my 100 WC, the prompt that we had to follow was to write a story with the words Silence, Swam, Orange, Pajamas and Thunder in it.
These words I have highlighted in bold.
I was focusing of writing exactly 100 words this week, and thankfully after a lot of work of squeezing and arranging words, I made that happen!
Have a read and tell me what you think, would you like to do this?
The dull silence was unbearable.
The only sound was the water that swam and sloshed around us.
A ship had been and gone, but never stopped; it just kept moving forward, slowly into the burnt orange sunset.
We sat adrift, dad was trying to keep the mood positive, but we all could hear the quiver and shaking behind his calming words.
Mum sent us to bed.
I changed into my pajamas, and while I was lying there, I could hear the faint sound of thunder quaking in the distance.
I pulled the covers over my head, wishing it never began.

My School Time Table Week 2
This term Rimu Class are learning to manage our time and work.
Below is my time table for Week 2 of this Term.
I have planned what I am doing this week using the box that has what we need to in it.
At the end of each day we have to reflect on how we went sticking to it and completing the work that we set to do.
To do this we colour code each slot green orange and red.
Do you think this is a good idea?
What else can I do to become a more self managing learner?

100 Word Challenge Week 1
Every week my class are participating in the 100 Word Challenge.
We have to write a story between 90-110 words based on the prompt that is given to us every week.
This week the prompt was describing what kind of a world we would step into if we went through a door that was at the end of a stairway going up to the sky.
Here is my first 100wc:
The magnificent white marble staircase sat in an ever turning spiral; unaware, unknown.
It pulled at me, urging me to glide up and step through it’s wonderful mirrored arch.
So I did.
Where I came through was on a tall hill overlooking the strange little kingdom I had entered.
Everyone had their own house, and own piece of land.
But every little person was golden, like little statues moving around.
Most of me wanted to go back, but a part of me felt like I belonged down there with them.

True or False... ? Advertising Mayhem
Yesterday on the 2nd of May, Rimu Class were challenged to write either a true or false story about an event that happened during the last school holidays.
Your job is to try to guess the right answer, whether that would be true of false.
Have a read of my story, and in the comment box tell me which you think it is and WHY!
Enjoy!
Over the last fourteen days my family and I drove to Northlands Mall around seven times.
Four of the visits were to find specific things, another was to watch a movie, and the other three were simply because we could.
On the 5th day of the fourteen days, on a simply because we could visit, we couldn’t believe how many people were there!
I suppose it was the school holidays, but that didn’t mean everyone had to come!
As we walked among the many people we soon past Briscoes, and it looked like almost everyone was in there!
They were having another sale with 60% off specialized tea towels and toilet plungers!
I couldn’t believe it… I mean why on earth would Briscoes advertise those two things out of everything else?
Even though most of the other kitchen and bathroom accessories were on sale too!
It seemed a bit odd, but not as odd as what we saw next!
We slowly made our way to the end of the mall where we saw The Warehouse advertising there imported duct tape and fishbowls!
This seemed a little bit hard to believe!
Our just because we could visit, had turned into a advertising mayhem visit!
I suppose it’s not something you see everyday; but man it was funny!
